About Us
K9 snaps originally started on the Beach in Somerset back in 2013. It started as a fun hobby and developed into a small business.
Martin and Charlotte took joint photos of dogs having an absolute blast on the beach while on their holiday’s and more often than not when their owners saw the photo’s they asked if they could have them!
Eventually, the facebook page, the bark side of weston-super-mare was created. It’s original purpose was to help book in photo sessions but it soon evolved into a community 10,000 strong and has raised money through calendars for dog rescues in the North Somerset area.
Martin still runs the bark side of weston-super-mare but has (for the time being) retired from dog photography.
Charlotte, however, has moved to Didcot in Oxfordshire after completing her degree from the University of Birmingham. She works full time in the environmental sector but shares her father’s love of photography. She has recently adopted a rescued greyhound named Missy who is one of K9 snaps ambassador dogs! You may see her pop up on socials. She came from a charity called the Forever Hounds Trust and since the inception of K9 Snaps Didcot, Charlotte has raised over £600 for the forever hounds trust from photoshoots alone. And she has also helped out with local greyhound walks as well, doing the photography for these events and helping to further raise funds.
